Last week Aaron and I journeyed to snowy West Michigan to join 1500 other people from around the world for the Calvin Symposium on Worship at Calvin College in Grand Rapids. We enjoyed three days of worship and learning, attending sessions on everything from including children in worship to crafting powerpoints to planning mutli-ethnic worship.
Personally, a highlight of the event was worshipping with Christians from around the world. It was beautiful to see the diversity and to hear the stories of churches in other countries. As we worshiped together I was reminded of the vision of heavenly worship described in Revelation of people from all different countries and languages worshipping together.
We returned from the conference with pages of notes and new ideas. Over the next few months I’m sure we will continue to reflect on the things we saw, heard, and experienced, thinking about how they apply to worship at Granite Springs.
