Make a Dress 1

Make a Dress is a fairly new and continuing ministry at Granite Springs.  Through this ministry, simple supplies like a pillowcase and bias tape are turned into fun and colorful dresses for girls.  From Bev Trapp, who started this ministry, here is her story of how God has blessed this ministry.  “When we started Make a Dress, at the very first sew fest turn out, over 70 people attended.  A troop of Girl Scouts, ladies from Lincoln Hills Community Church, and people who had read about Make a Dress in the local newspaper were some of the people in attendance.  Women were also willing to take kits home and make the dresses at their leisure.  After two sew fests, we had completed 307 dresses to send to Haiti!  What a joy to see the happy people enjoying these sew fests and to witness the pleasure they shared in knowing that they were helping little girls in Haiti have beautiful dresses to wear.  As we continue with this ministry, it is exciting to know that the Lord continues to bless our efforts in helping less fortune children.  As the women who took the kits home have told me, as each dress made from a pillow case is prayed over, the women, too, are blessed as they put their love into making the dresses.”
