Music & Drama Camp 2012 is going fantastically! Already on the second day, everyone’s having a blast! We have about 70 kids and 50 coaches, helpers, and other volunteers. Kids come to participate between 9am – 12pm each day, and their day is divided up between large group time (which is full of stories, skits, and song learning time) and small group time (where they play games and learn individual scenes).
But the fun doesn’t stop there! This Friday night at 6:30, we’re having a movie night, where we’ll be showing (in line with our musical’s ‘Hawaiian’ theme) “Lilo & Stitch!” There will be games until 7pm, and during the movie there will be snacks and drinks for everyone involved. Come join us for an awesome time!
In addition to having a TON of fun, we are preparing to perform a musical this Sunday, July 22! This year’s musical, “The Island King” (not a spin on “The Lion King”), was written by Granite Springs’ first Director of Music & Worship, Gregg DeMey. It’s a musical all about God’s faithfulness to his people even in the midst of trouble and hardship told by the kids through three stories from the book of Daniel in the Old Testament of the Bible.
Please join us for the movie night on Friday, July 20 at 6:30pm, and PLEASE join us on Sunday, July 22, at 10:30am at Granite Springs (1170 East Joiner Parkway, Lincoln, CA) to see the kids’ performance!
In the meantime, feel free to check out our flikr by visiting granitesprings.org to view photos taken at camp!
