Parking Lot Project

Updated: May 26, 2022

In the days before COVID—winter 2019-2020—we gathered funds to pave the parking lot on the southeast side of our facility (see photo above). We raised enough–$65,000—to meet a contractor’s bid at the time, when no engineering drawings were needed. Given the online era of worship services during the pandemic, we paused the project, and kept the gifts in a fund reserved for this purpose.

During the past several months, we have brought the project back to life. Recently, we employed civil engineers to engage in the due diligence and certifications required by the city of Lincoln. Currently officials at the City are reviewing the engineers’ proposal. Once we receive the go-ahead from the City, we will seek multiple bids for the project. We expect new bids on the project will be higher—given inflation and the cost of oil. We will provide another update as soon as we have clarity on the project. Thanks for your patience.
