Missions 2016 – Kathy Cortez

Blessing a family with a home through Yugo in Mexico has been on my wish list for many years. I feel very fortunate that I was able to accomplish that dream.

As exciting as it was to see the team come together and build the actual house, there were many other hidden blessings along the way. Yes this family was given a new home, but the experience of working alongside our team I am sure has given memories and a learning experience that will stay with them for years.

The young people that led our team in the building experience had a tremendous amount of patience and love as they taught Brandon and Dillon, the two boys in the family, simple carpentry skills. It was such a joy each day to watch these two little boys grow in their skills and to watch The Pride and Joy on their faces as they helped build their home.

God’s love was so very apparent in the work that was accomplished, the relationships that were built, and the safety he extended to our team in keeping us safe the entire time we were away.

I would encourage others to take this adventure. Working with YUGO makes it easy to bless a family with an actual home that changes the quality of their life dramatically and brightens their future. This Blessing creates a ripple effect that has no measure.
